Video of Jensen Huang performing the moonwalk goes viral; Musk steps in with a personal reply

AI technology is advancing rapidly; generating images of cats, dogs, or landscapes is no longer a novelty, and even synthesized videos can look incredibly realistic. Recently, a video went viral on X showing Nvidia CEO Jensen Huang—clad in his signature leather jacket—taking the stage and immediately performing Michael Jackson’s famous “Moonwalk.” The video even drew a comment from Tesla CEO Elon Musk.

A user uploaded the video to X, showing Huang jumping onto a concert stage in his trademark leather jacket. The camera then pans to the audience, revealing a crowd of tech titans—including AMD CEO Lisa Su, Meta founder Mark Zuckerberg, and OpenAI CEO Sam Altman. Huang then performs the Moonwalk and belts out a song with lyrics like, “Building compute centers is up to me, hand over the cash—so AI, the AI era is here, Just AI AI AI…”

In reality, the entire video was generated by a Chinese netizen using AI technology. It was originally footage of Michael Jackson performing “Beat It” at a concert, which was altered to show Huang in his leather jacket performing the Moonwalk. The vocals were also modified via AI to mimic Michael Jackson’s voice, yet the lyrics were sung in Chinese. The original poster marveled at how difficult it has become to detect traces of AI generation in such videos, exclaiming, “It’s unbelievable.”
